Spirit of Iowa Tribute Bell

A Symbol of Community

"This is such a unique and special way to recognize and honor the sacrifices our veterans have made and continue to make for each and every one of us."

The Spirit of Iowa Tribute Bell was created as a sustainable, portable community outreach symbol. The Bell was created and built into a trailer that can be transported to mulitple community events to tell the story of Iowa Veterans and to raise awareness of veterans' needs with contributions supporting the Iowa Veterans Trust Fund. A small footprint with a large impact!

Creation of the two-foot tall, 255-pound Bell took place over a 3-day exhibition at the Iowa State Fair 2017, showcasing support for the military and veterans of Iowa. Made of an 80% copper, 20% tin combination, the Bell chimes with an "E" note. This was all made possible by generous donations from Bankers Trust, DuPont Pioneer, Kaplan University, Principal, Military Warriors Support Foundation, Wellmark Blue Cross and Blue Shield, and Wells Fargo. Wells Fargo team members Brian Eikenberry and Jeff Chavannes led the effort to bring the Bell to Iowa.
